Rate and Review Spurlock Accounting & Tax Services

We were referred to Mrs. Spurlock by friends that had used her services for years. We were hopeful that we would have as good of an experience as they did. In the end, I can say that this was the worst experience I have had with any professional. In the beginning, the process was okay. Mrs. Spurlock nor her assistant were ever easy to get on the phone. However, it was tax season so understandable. Ultimately, I was given the amounts that we would owe to the state of Georgia & others states. We prepared for them to be directly debited from our account. When the debit came through, it was $365 more than we were told. I have asked for our tax returns to be mailed numerous times & as of today, June 15th, we still have not received them. Mrs. Spurlock will not answer calls, emails, or text. I had to request a copy of our returns from the IRS & Georgia Dept. of Revenue directly. I received the returns from Georgia yesterday. Upon looking over them I now know that Mrs. Spurlock filed our return for Georgia wrong. I absolutely understand that everyone makes mistakes. However, she completely stopped responding. It was of no concern to her that she made a mistake & how she handled the situation was completely unprofessional. We started this process in February. I've asked for the copy of my returns since March 17th. Since being notified of the issue with the return, she has not responded to me since May 20th. I am now having to pay another tax preparer to amend my Georgia taxes after paying her $250 in February. I would never recommend using her services!
